UPDATE: 10/31/2005 - Updated Email Address for Kip

UPDATE: 06/22/2005 - Added a few new pics, darker background. Fixed the engines, they are now properly aligned, and added the Pentagon decals.

UPDATE: 06/22/2005 - OK, this little project is pretty much done. I made the finish to look as close as possible to the CGI shots I've got from ZOIC. I painted the 'red eye' on with a bit of a red overspray on the aluminum. (The effect is similar to what you see in each episode opening clip). There were a few problems with the kit, the biggest being I didn't notice the engines didn't align at the ends when putting them in the tabs. I'll have to fix the one engine to 'shorten' it. I'll get to that later. Kip Hart did a remarkable job with the master, but with most hand built models like this, there are bound to be some problems. So, the right wing is a bit shorter than the left, and many areas of the wings are not symmetrical. BUT, this is such a beautiful kit, those things are barely noticeable. And I doubt a manufacturer will make this beauty at this scale. The finish is mostly various testors enamels, and mostly buffing metallizers, though I didn't do any buffing. I added the 'missles' as one being 'hot', the other two ready. I haven't figured out what I want to do about a base yet either. All in all, for a quick two week build up, I'm pretty happy with this, to go along with the new viper.

UPDATE: 06/13/2005 - Put the wings together to the hull, filled seams w/ putty, and sanded everything down. Primered all parts. Started on the engines a bit. (I decided to 'core' out the engines, instead of leaving the inside of the engines the way they came). I also removed the overlap resin where the bottom and top of the hull meet. I then replaced that line with some very thin vinyl 'tape' to make a smaller edge. I also reduced the height of the 'eye' section, and did some minor re scribing of lines. Hope to begin some of the base metallic coating tonight.

MISSILE BAY - I chose to make one of the bays open w/ missiles. I scratch built some details in the missile bay. I used some tank parts, some wire, and 2 'resistors' to add some detail in there. The missiles will sit on the two tank 'gears', the idea being the missiles will 'rotate' on theis 'launcher'.

UPDATE: 06/10/2005 - This is a very nice resin kit by "Wolvster" (Kip Hart). Needs some flash cleanup, but overall a very clean kit, with parts that fit very well. I'm doing some work on this from a break from the Big-E. More to come!
